Youth Programs

Stoneham Youth Lacrosse offers programs for Boys and Girls at FIVE age levels.  We welcome and encourage all interested players at any level - prior experience playing lacrosse is not required.  Both our boys' and girls' teams compete in the MA Youth Lacrosse League.

Our Classic program is focused on building age-based skills and game knowledge.  Teams are evenly distributed by skill and offer equal playing time for all players.  Practices are 2x a week with a game on Sunday and include a season-end Jamboree.

Our Select program offers a faster pace of play and a higher level of competition to players. There is a tryout and an additional fee for this team. An additional practice and game each week are expected of these players. Players will be eligible to be nominated to compete in the MA Youth Lacrosse League All-Star game.

Grades 1/2

Classic: Our 1/2 program's focus is teaching lacrosse fundamentals (throwing, catching, ground balls, cradling, and shooting) to young players in a fun and safe atmosphere. Games are played on a smaller field and rules are modified to increase touches and understanding of the game.  We want all of our 1/2s to have fun and love lacrosse.

Grades 3/4

Classic: Our 3/4 programs will continue to build on fundamental skills, understanding of the game, and focus on teamwork.  Teams will continue to play on a modified field with modified rules to increase ball movement and teamwork.

Grades 5/6
Classic: Our 5/6 programs will focus on the continued development of strong stick skills, increased field awareness, and a faster pace of play.  Teams move to full-field play.

Select:  Boys and Girls select teams are offered at the 5/6 level.

Grades 7/8

Classic: Our 7/8 programs focus on the continued development of strong stick skills,  positional play, field awareness, and a faster pace of play.

Select: Boys and Girls select teams are offered at the 7/8 level.   The highest level of competition offered through the youth league is a great opportunity for players who want to continue their lacrosse career in high school.
